I KNEW the spatula was fucked but couldn't find much else. This explains so much!
Yep. I ran both images through OpenAI's verification tool at openai.com/research/ver... which the "original/untouched" one passes as not altered by them, while the clearly iffy one with the Sainsbury's logo doesn't, as it has an embedded OpenAI SynthID:
From experience, it's also very possible they had a decent retoucher make these amends at source BUT then someone ran a low res version through an upscaler and it made it look all slopped up.
