That implies to me they never did a proper string lock until the last minute, which could explain bugs like this.

Even then, it doesn't really make sense why ONLY the English version seemingly has such massive differences in the script. Obviously I'm not omnilingual, nor have I interviewed anyone involved so I can't check everything. But just looking at the string table is enough to see some of the issues.
