Folks who've gone from detailed GIS files to Blender... how on earth do you prep an svg so it can actually become a usable polygon and not a mesh of pain

Do you have it as a shapefile as well as an svg? If so you can bring it in using the BlenderGIS plugin. Not sure that would help with the mesh of pain though, as it would still just be a ring of vertices that Blender then tries to make faces from. What are you doing with it once in Blender?

Current workflow is simplified svg -> import to Blender as curves -> convert to mesh -> weep at what Blender's doing to my boys
