Duffield said: “We need to be able to understand what information was used to create this content, what the model underlying it was trained on, what rules it has, what the trust and safety policies are, how we can ask for corrections, what the corrections process will look like, which humans have been involved in it. In their absence it’s very hard to place trust in something.”

Number 10 did not respond. When Government departments and ministers make unevidenced claims and don’t publish data to support these claims, the public don’t have the ability to scrutinise and challenge claims made by those in power.
