I wouldn't bet my life savings on this having ultimately been the Muskrat's idea, but I'd be willing to bet a small sum. He is exactly the kind of idiot who looks at the Fallout Bible and sees a roadmap rather than a cautionary tale. I think it's extremely important because it's absurd. You don't base your fucking international policy on a video game series, especially a series that could as easily be titled "Don't Fucking Do This If You Don't Want To Kill The Entire Fucking World Including Yourself." I think as we lobby our representatives to publicly refuse to fund this lunacy we need to actually lean on this. Discredit it by pointing out where it came from, loudly and repeatedly. Make it such a topic of mockery that no Republican wants to be associated with it. We've literally already had six games and a TV series to tell us how this turns out. This is an open-book test and we can't afford to fail it--not for the people of Canada, not for the entire rest of the world. Demand your representatives make a public commitment to the sovereignty of Canada NOW.

In the Fallout universe, one of the first things the US did that created the inevitable trainwreck with China was--guess what--annexing Canada for its resources. In fact this action is considered iconic in the games, with the first few minutes of the first game showing a Canadian soldier on his knees being executed by a shot to the back of the head while the voiceover tells you he was "resisting." Annexing Canada, to anyone sane playing the game, was a sign of just how repulsive the US had become (and the Fallout US makes the real US look sane). Why is this important, in spite of being a video game? Because Elon Musk is a gamer.
