I study the atmospheres of terrestrial exoplanets, looking for bio signatures, and asking if brown dwarfs systems can be habitable. PhD @ York University 29 🇨🇦💀🪐

A view of the full disk of the Earth showing north and south america from the goes-east geostationary satellite from right now. Most of the image is in night time viewed through infrared light. Lots of clouds and storm structures across the disk, with a nice line across the equator and evidence of the coriolis effect on the cloud systems. You can see that the bomb cyclone is being formed from a system pushing north east from the tropics colliding with a system traveling south east from the polar regions and Canada.

A blurry (by regular photo standards this photo is blurry, by Pluto distance and size standards this is 8k full HDR or whatever) photo of Pluto and Charon. Of course this is a new horizons image because no one else has ever been able to get close to resolving these two in any meaningful way (Hubble you tried your best, and we love you for that, we really do, but your version of a Pluto photo looks like a gecko got turned into a circle)
