Mossy rocks, the collapsed structure of an allee couverte, leading to a steeply angled capstone. The burial chamber is in a little wooded clearing, sunshine falling through the leaves of the trees. It's a hot, airless September day.

The picture took 120 hours because Lucian Freud was hard work. (My interpretation.) Hockney's reciprocal pic of Freud took three hours because F could dish it out but not take it when it came to sitting for protraits.

A large, lumpy standing stone in the foreground with three or more behind it and a couple of others visible also. It is a baking hot September day. The grass is scorched and brown. This little bit of alignment is tucked in between some houses on the Quiberon Peninsula. The stones cross the road and head for the sea, but these are the most visible.
