A collection of submissions from favoritepokemon.vercel.app for Magikarp. They read as follows. I strongly relate to magikarp. I often cannot do much on my own. I am weak and rather useless. This does not mean I am unworthy of love. I love magikarp, it (and I) does not need to evolve to have value. We can celebrate our small victories together. Magikarp my beloved. I loved Magikarp as a kid because he seemed so cool for having the potential to be this power house of a pokemon and I guess I saw myself and hoped I had potential that Magikarp has. its comforting, by its evolution it shows that even the most simple and underestimated creatures can evolve, i was always bullied at school and everyone hated magikarp but loved gyarados most people didnt know that that was his evolution and it showed me even the weakest are respected My girl struggles the hardest but with enough patience and love, she can transition to be the best version she can be. It takes time effort but she'll get there! right now, i may only be able to leap and splash. but one day, i'll evolve to be one of the greatest water pokemon of all. i will believe in myself like how i believe in magikarp!! Magikarp has to try harder than everyone else! He flip flops around but he keeps going! And he eventually works hard and becomes Gyarados!!! But he'll always still be hardworking Magikarp to me... One time in high school I found a crumpled base set Magikarp card, waterlogged after a rainy day, in the parking lot. I felt a lot like that Magikarp. I dried it off that day, and have carried it with me for over a decade.
