Reads: LALUZAPALOOZA summer group exhibition August 7th-August 30th Opening reception Aug 7th: 7pm - 11pm La Luz de Jesus 4633 Hollywood BIvd My work will be on display at La Luz de Jesus Gallery for the month of August as part of their annual group show LALUZAPALOOZA! The exhibition will run from August 7th to August 30th. Open everyday to the public, Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 7pm and Sundays from 11 am to 6pm.  Don’t miss the opening reception on August 7th from 7pm to 11pm at the gallery located at 4633 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA.

the same painting as above, but the rocks were much duller.
oil painting of a seated human figure with the head of a raven, in a rocky desert landscape. A single green plant grows from the rocks. The corners of the image are full of plants. I started this one in late 2023. I thought it was done in January of ’24, but it never sat right with me. I’d done the rocks in the landscape in true-to-life colors that just didn’t excite me. I went back into it in June with something more saturated, and I think it’s now a much better piece. I hope you dig it, too

Fancily framed oil painting I made of our dear departed pup, Winston, standing on a pile of large rocks in front of mountains, under an intensely saturated sunset sky. We got to share 14 and a half awesome years with Winston, that most exceptional of beasts. We lost him to cancer in the summer of ’24. I started this painting not long after. I think the loss was too fresh for me to really pull it off. I decided it needed some more work so I did it. His monument needed to reflect his awesomeness. I think it’s closer, now.
