Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, the service provides psychosocial support within a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment. Please note: There may be times when due to staffing we may not be able to offer walk-ins. If this happens, we'll let people know via the 'Service Updates' box at the top of this page. We'll also share information about alternative ways you can get help. You can also give us a call before you visit.
We were horrified how our suicidal son was treated, they left feeling worse than when we arrived. We understand necessary paperwork but to be carried out in a hallway with strangers walking past for someone who hates being in the spotlight, the lack of understanding in dealing with our autistic son was incredible. The person dealing with them kept hounding them saying are you sure you want to be here, take the form away and decide. If our son attended solo he definitely wouldn't have made it home! This wasn't gentle nurturing and understanding that the person was in dire need and at their lowest ebb should have received. It's so frightening to think how many others may have cried out for help but received nothing when they arrived... they really need to overhaul this as carrying on like this is putting lives at risk! They even suggested coming back the next day at 3pm like they could just put their suicidal ideation on hold until then.
There might be other people using the Staying Well service at the same time as you. Staff will ask whether you will feel calm and safe in a crisis café setting. A crisis café is a room where people can sit if they are feeling distressed or in crisis. If you feel like sharing the space will be difficult for you, the service may still be able to help you, but it is important that they know. Staff will ask if you want a cup of tea or coffee, or a glass of water. There are calming activities, sensory gadgets and fidget tools available for you to use if you want to. It's up to you if you'd rather sit quietly or talk to the other people in the room.
There are three doorbells next to the front door. You should press the black Ring video doorbell that looks like this picture. The service has a Ring video doorbell to allow staff to see who is arriving before they open the door. Staff can see and talk to you using the doorbell. ring If you are a non-speaking person, or if you find it hard to talk, you might find it difficult to use the Ring video doorbell. You could write your answer and hold it up to the camera on the Ring video doorbell. You could nod or shake your head, or give a thumbs up/thumbs down to answer the questions. You could sign "Yes" or "No" using Makaton or BSL see signs below: Bend your wrist downwards while saying "Yes" Move your hand sidewards away from your chest while saying "No" Signing Yes No ? Staff will ask you some questions before opening the door. They do this for everybody who comes to use the service. This is part of the Staying Well service risk assessment. Initially went for a Band 6 interview but negotiated the non-prescribing course and was offered in the contract to start soon f. He has been a mental health nurse for nine months.

hello janet, i recently received a threatening letter from you and had a request i have actually been trying to get in touch with you using the phone number provided on the letter for a few days now but to no avail. do you have another number that you answer? your PA's phone has also been off all week. anyway, back to my request i note that it says on the letter: "This document can be made available in other languages, on audio tape, CD, large print or other formats on request." i would like to request an audio tape of the letter in japanese along with the MP3 file so i can listen in the car. i will also take a written copy in japanese (Japanese kanji） in terms of other formats, if it all possible i would like to also request the letter as an embroidered tapestry, similar to a victorian sampler. english will be fine for this as i believe it would be very hard to embroider all three of the japanese alphabets. i very much look forward to your response, with warm regard, Zoe

Central to this form of promotion is an unquestioned neoliberal logic related to the inevitability of scarce resources and the need to save money. It is taken as a ‘given’ that practitioners will have inadequate time to properly undertake fundamental social work tasks, such as assessments. Unsurprisingly, within the confines of ‘austerity’ scarred offices, many practitioners welcome the deployment of AI ‘tools’ to help manage workloads that are often too high for mere humans to handle. Implicitly, the idea of introducing more staff, with lighter caseloads and better terms and conditions of employment is extinguished as a topic of concern and debate. Rather, practitioners are simply construed as inevitably overworked, whilst the purveyors of AI are limned as enthusiastic ‘fixers’, seemingly with no financial interest or stake, just simply keen to provide ‘solutions’.
