(Hemingway is not magic. It's a very simple thing that counts letters and words and has some hardcoded rules to recognize common adverbs, passive verbs, etc.)
I like the distinction between "hard to read" and "*very* hard to read." Hemingway's programmers apparently never dreamed that anyone would write "bagel-shaped boulder" so they don't seem to have a "ludicrous metaphor" flag.
