Niall Harbison @niallharbison.bsky.social · 2d 🚨 6 full days on he is alive. 🏥 Thought we lost him a couple of times In the last 72 hours. 🩸 It is leptospirosis that ravaged his body. 🤒 His pain is being managed, he has IV drips. He was puking, diarrhea and severe life threatening anemia. 🥘 Today he is back eating and drinking a tiny bit.

Poor Bear, but he’s showing signs of a strong will to live. Once these dogs cross the HD threshold they seem to know they’re safe and will get the best chance of surviving. That he’s starting to eat on his own and be curious about his surroundings is a very good sign. We are all sending our love!!❤️

You may not realize this, Niall, but Bear's recovery from Lepto may end up being one of the reasons people will get the Lepto vax for their dogs now. I've seen so many people say they refuse that vax. I hope Bear fully recovers and more people see why that vaccine is important. Keep fighting Bear! 🐻
