Cartoon Brew: What is animation to you, as a filmmaker and an artist? Michel Gondry: It's quite simple. To me, animation is a discovery of cinema 24 times per second. You start over each time, and that's why animation has this glow, this vibration. Every second, every frame is a new film, a new discovery.
