Sketchnote of why visual summaries work. Help audiences learn FAST - we process visuals in 13 ms, versus 6 seconds for the same information presented as text (MIT 2019). Make research more MEMORABLE - audiences that were shown a visual summary were 65% more likely to remember the information 3 days later, than the same information presented as just text (Medina, 2018). Visual summaries - especially character and narrative driven ones - evoke EMOTION. This drives audiences to CARE about your work and make changes as a result (Wang, 2023).
