Even the work of the Fulbright Association is under attack. After using a couple of Arnold Knoblauch study grants for a couple of trips to the USA, mostly focusing on differences in urban design, I applied for a Fulbright Stipend to continue my architecture studies in the United States after graduating from the TU Berlin with a Diplom Ingenieur in Architektur degree. I was matched with the Ohio State University where I made my way into Chris Yessios' Computer Aided Architectural Design specialization and graduated with a Master of Architecture degree. This was possible only with the financial support and Visa sponsorship by the Fulbright Association. Through this opportunity I became a member of an international network of researchers and practitioners working on improving the impact the architectural profession has on the quality of the built environment. I believe I have contributed in some way through participating, organizing, tutoring, teaching, presenting papers, and coaching at workshops, conferences, in firms, and other events and institutions. The Fulbright Association provided a crucial boost to my professional development.
