on my phone. an unoptimized release build cloudflare tunneled out from my desktop. uses hydrant for backfill. combination of opencascade.js for STEP files specifically and a rust wasm web worker renderer. dioxus fullstack with server-side rendering.

When I was working in the same office as SketchFab (now Fab @ Epic Games) circa 2014 I remember discussing and helping with the model viewer, so these sites really don鈥檛 have an excuse >12 years later.
Just tested out your prototype, really cool idea! Thingiverse does have 3D rendering support though it's just kinda hidden and sometimes slow.
