Then he looks down at the flowers in his lap (with its tiny ‘Congratulations On Your New Baby!’ card that the florist had attached), up at the table full of pregnancy-related purchases, then back at Shen Wenlang. When Shen Wenlang refuses to say anything, his lips twitch slightly, and he says blandly, “You know that I like yellow flowers.”
