"For eight years Premier Ford has not said a single word about the island airport, and suddenly he's hell bent on expand the airport to allow him to fly Gravy Plane jet from there. Ford continues to make decisions affecting Torontonians with the sole focus of him being able to get to work and his fundraisers across Ontario faster. Any other level of government that gets involved in this seemingly corrupt process will now be tarred with Ford's taxpayer funded Gravy Plane." DOUG FORD: COOL YOUR JETS Toronto Can Decide the Future of the Island Airport, Thank You Very Much Doug Ford lost the 2014 mayoral election, and he still can't get over it. He's always had dumb designs for our waterfront: monorails, ferris wheels, mega-malls, high-end spas, floating convention centres, shrink-flated science centres, half-billion dollar parking lots, and now... a Pearson Airport on the waterfront. There are ideas people, and there are bad ideas people - and that's Doug Ford. He's never passed a balanced budget, but taken over school boards who don't make cuts. He oversaw almost a decade of delays to the Eglinton Crosstown. He made our roads deadlier by outlawing speed cameras - over the objections of major municipalities. And now he personally reviews and approves the plans of any city or town that wants to install bike lanes. Just like all his other bad ideas, his designs for Doug Ford Airport will inevitably make things worse. My message to Doug is simple: cool your jets, stay in your lane, and let us stay in ours. Based on direction from the Supervisor appointed at the TDSB by the Minister of Education, the decision has been made to change the application and admission process for Specialized Programs. Applications will be open during the week of November 10, 2025 and will remain open for three weeks. Elementary Applicants will be admitted based on an evaluated portfolio or audition video submitted with their application. Secondary Applicants must meet a report card benchmark (based on their 2024-25 report cards) to be eligible to apply. Applicants will be seated based on their overall applicant score; a combination of select report card marks connected to their program of choice and an evaluated demonstration of knowledge and skills.

r/OntarioTeachers Join u/okaybutnothing • 7d Congrats on saving $14 million dollars on the backs of teachers, students and families, TDSB TDSB, under direction from the provincial supervisor, sent its admin an email last night, celebrating the $14.5 million they saved by forcing the least common sense, most disruptive reorganization ever. The TDSB, under normal circumstances, does not care about staff and only minimally about kids and families, but under this supervisor, they don't care at all.

Update on Ministry Supervision of TDSB TDSB remains under supervision, with the powers of Trustees vested with a Ministry-appointed supervisor, as shared with you in July. Last month, Trustees lost access to TDSB email and were directed to return devices. Many of you have asked how parents and caregivers will be heard on decisions that affect them. I share this concern and am among 18 of 22 Trustees who signed a letter to Ombudsman Paul Dubé requesting intervention and confirmation that the Supervisor will conduct the governance function of Trustees according to the Education Act (noting section 218.1 and 169.1). Ombudsman Ontario is an independent officer that helps keep government and public services accountable and whose office is vital to democracy.
