Just off the cuff without thinking on it too much, option 1 seems best. Option 3, but the accent seems a bit on the big side but could help it by placing accent further from the tree. I don't know why could be my bias, but the accent on the right may be worth a try.
I think this might be the solution to my accent plant problem. I picked some sea grass down by the sound and brought it down to a reasonable height. I think it gives the tree both a sense of place and season. #bonsai
