*... Their hunch was right. Something was up with the residents. In fact, the entire town. The whole thing was one big... thing... that imitated a town to feed. All those residents were hosts to parasites, those buildings nests, even the very ground they were running away on wasn't safe. The two felt the very dirt beneath their feet almost squirm as if trying to trip them.* "Not much further... 'Till we're out of here...!" "Yea but- Woah-!" *Elle doesn't finish her thought, as one of the "trees" grabs her by ankle and drags her closer.* "Cochrane! Help!" *The tree pinned her to the ground. From it's leaves a leech-looking creature slinked down. Cochrane aimed her gun at it, but didn't fire. The fireball would set everything, including Elle ablaze. She was frozen in indecision.* *The creature leaped, right onto Elle's head.* "NO!" *But the moment the creature latched onto Elle, it immediately jumped off, seemingly squirming in anguish. Even the "tree" rotted to nothing in an instant. Elle took the opportunity to quickly scurry off.* "What the hell just happened...?" "I think it tried to mind control me... though clearly it didn't like what was in my mind I guess..." *Neither Cochrane nor Elle knew what was in the depths of the undead's mind...*
