A field of green, tiny leaves covers almost the entire background. Poppy plant leaves are delicate and fractal, fingering out groups of three. The flower is center frame and resembles nothing so much as a flamenco dress. The tops of the petals are a bright creamsicle orange, with rose pink undersides. Unusually, each petal is pleated all the way down five or six times, giving it a rumpled paper look as if it was balled up in someone's fist and tossed on the ground
Against a backdrop of trees in the distance, the foreground contains a concrete patio, gunmetal grey railings, with glass panels. Center frame, a mostly grey house sparrow has fluffed up all his downy feathers - several of them caught in the wind at jaunty angles, as he's standing at the precipice of the patio floor - covered with his pinfeathers in various shades of brown and black. We're looking at him facing away from camera, turned sharp left. His tailfeathers are miniscule in comparison to his downy bulk, and he's peering into the distance to the left
This shot was in full sun, but the whitebalance on my phone decided to make it cloudy. Midframe is a chain-link fence; straddling both sides of the fence is a dense stand of California poppies. Amazingly, unnaturally bright orange, these flowers have delicate cup-shaped blooms with petals that curve gracefully away from an equally-orange stamen. The greenery below and surrounding the flowers is lush, contrasting with the bright orange and griegy asphalt and high-rise background (condo towers) and foreground (a paved bike path)
Lupine is a violet-blue-purple flowering plant. Tall stalks rise majestically out of vibrant green leaves 1-2 feet high. In this close-up, we see the striations on the paddle-shaped petals. To the right of the frame, a very fat bumblebee is perched on one such petal/pedal cluster. Her back is to camera and her left wing is fairly still - so was captured relatively clearly, the veiny branches sparkling in the sun - while her extremely fuzzy yellow and black striped fuzzy body contrasts with the field of violet-purple dominating the frame. It's a little late in the season already, so some of the petals have faded to a beige-y burgundy color
Against a heavily bokehed tall grass field, a single stem of violet-blue bell-shaped flowers is backlit by the sun, turning the edges of the petals nearly white. The shot is a cropped close-up of the flowers in mid-frame.
In the foreground are dozens of delicate miniature tree-like leaf structures, stretching several inches high and fading into the mid-frame. They are vividly green and have the structure of a tiny spruce tree. In the mid-frame are the fruiting bodies of the plants - a common horsetail - which consist of vertical spikes alternating brown and translucent beige, topped by a beige and stippled brown pod-shaped body that narrows to a point. The plants are arrayed in front of a railroad track in the background, with a small signal structure far in the background, and some additional several-feet tall grasses and miscellaneous bushes

Among a few dead leaves and bare ground, surrounded by a few clumps of green ground cover that's something in the carrot family, stands a clump of over a dozen light violet crocuses. At the bottom of the frame is a solitary white crocus
