Gilgamesh lets his lids close for a moment. The sights and scents of Uruk well up in his mind, fresh as if he'd been there this morning. His memories of childhood are a hazy mass upon the horizon; outlines and shadows make themselves known, but he cannot see anything more than that. Through things he'd been told he did, he can piece together a shadow puppet show of childhood memories, but it's a secondhand performance. If he'd been given a coin which said "child" he'd simply have replied "I don't know". His memories begin to return as he reaches his teen years. Muddled at first as a young teen, then clearer and clearer until he can smell the blood of his very first act of violence.
