I am calling to urge Governor Hochul to sign three bills that will protect the rights of transgender people as well as provide key privacy and healthcare protections for all New Yorkers. Senate Bill S4914B will protect people accessing gender-affirming care and reproductive healthcare in New York from prosecution by other states. Senate Bill S3486 will require hospitals to provide patients and their families with much needed transparency. Additionally, this bill will allow lawmakers and researchers to identify health care deserts in our state. Senate Bill S929 will protect our private health information from misuse by Big Tech. Our legislators have worked hard to pass these bills, and I believe that signing them into law will be essential for the State of New York to fight back against overreach by the Trump administration and Republican-controlled states. I am asking Governor Hochul to sign all three bills as soon as possible. Thank you.

Trans people need your support right now! The House of Representatives has passed a cruel budget bill that included BANNING all transgender healthcare coverage for Medicaid recipients. A great way to help remind the government that trans lives are important to everyone is to contact your senators. If you're not sure what to say, we've also included a script! Hello, I am [full namel, a constituent from [location]; my zip code is [zipl. I'm calling today about the budget that the house passed late Wednesday night. This budget will cut $500 billion from Medicaid. As a result, millions of people will lose their health care, and thousands of people will die. One cut is blatant, discriminatory language that denies using Medicaid and ACA funds for gender affirming care. The scientific and medical consensus could not be more clear: gender affirming care is necessary for trans people. Gender affirming care saves lives. Republicans are using the federal budget to deprive trans people of their healthcare. They are pushing an eliminationist agenda. Any budget that prevents access to gender affirming care will be signed in blood. Please, refuse to allow our federal government to sign the deaths of thousands of Americans, and oppose the Republicans' eliminationist agenda. Fund Medicaid. Fund the ACA. Protect trans lives. On 4/16/25, the UK supreme court ruled in their favor - trans people will now be excluded from public facilities such as bathrooms and changing rooms. This change subjects trans people, particularly trans women, to even greater risk of violence and harassment. JK rowling celebrated this decision by posting a selfie of her on her yacht, drinking and smoking a cigar. Our ask is easy. Read a better book. Give another author your money - someone who doesn't bully minorities on the internet.
