Honestly, I don't see too much of this type of two-way engagement with researchers, but it feels like it could be quite valuable. Huge thanks to Paula Kellett and Britt Alexander for their presentations.
The art is the result of a co-creation between scientist and artist. Exactly how that co-creation looks varies from project to project, team to team, but it is this process that helps the artists create their work - and the scientists to explore their research from a new perspective.
It also seeks to help scientists gain new insights and perspectives into the work they are doing.
Part of the event focused on the EMBracing the Ocean artist-in-residence programme from the @emarineboard.bsky.social. The programme isn't just about raising awareness of the ocean, ocean issues or inspiring behaviour change.
