I will share my thoughts on how Fortune's Weave will play out. Have you ever heard on Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair? I have not played it, but I recall the main idea of that game being that you can access the final level—the titular Impossible Lair—immediately but that beating it was extremely difficult. Because of this, the player is encouraged to play the game's other levels beforehand, in order to recieve more hit points and make the Impossible Lair easier to complete. I think Fortune's Weave will be structured similarly. The Direct says that you can fight the demon god immediately but warns of it being an extremely difficult task, thus you have the option to guide the protagonists of the Heroic Games in order to make completion easier. It's for this reason that I think the Heroic Games, while they will undoubtedly be a major part FW, will not be as long as you may think. I also think recruiting all of the protagonists for the apocalypse will be an option, as the player is free swap between routes if they so please. If such is the case, I picture doing all of them in one playthrough, plus the apocalypse, might be about as long as say...one route of Three Houses. Also because of this, the four main characters might have distinct events in their own routes. These are supposed to all happen simultaneously, so it makes sense for the protagonists to not cover the same tracks. There will likely be some overlap, we have seen protagonists team up during the Heroic Games, but this treading of similar ground will probably not be as 1-to-1 as White Clouds in Three Houses.
