"He had an unusual career arc, he had his fanbase but I remember just as many people not loving or even respecting him (the music nerds mostly). But as far as I'm aware, Alien Boy and Hurt are late-2010s alt-pop standards so I say he's earned an interesting little mark in music history. And even though it's independent from his music, he'll always have my props for the unmistakable image he made for himself. I would argue that he didn't present himself as anything BUT Oliver, and I can only respect that. Thanks for yr visit, Alien Boy 🌳🎈"

And MASSIVE props to the unmistakable image he made for himself too; the man was no one but himself, and in the case of Oliver Tree, that can only be respected.

I found this half-hour animation in my youtube recommended and the first three seconds looked pretty awesome but unfortunately the top comment caught my eye and it's some diatribe about how the commenter “feels bad for people who think creativity on the internet is dead because they let ‘the algorithm’ feed them slop” and that turned me off instantly. now the video's tainted and I don't wanna watch it anymore.
