My Letterboxd review of Dmiley Face (2007). Very very very funny. It’s in the neighborhood of The Big Lebowski, with the procedural bones of a mystery or thriller. Such tension! I felt the stakes as silly as that sounds. Such a good cast. If Krasinski had only done this that would be just fine by me.
My 4.5 star review of the film Janet Planet on Letterboxd: What a beautiful time I had thinking about my own weird childhood in similar environs (Western New York) watching this. So many of these scenes could have happened to me, the movie felt like a forgotten memory remembered. The 90s period films are upon us, and this is the best of them I’ve seen. Everything felt correct but not screaming at me. Incredible cast and performances as well.
