The bad decision was building around Zenjil in a way they knew they couldn’t stop. It had the momentum of a Class 5 and Zenjil had already proved earlier they didn’t have what it took to nudge a monster barreling planetside. “Do you want to get out of here?” Zenjil asked suddenly, before they could fuck this up for themself. And then a hastily added: “With me?” Henn looked taken aback long enough for Zenjil to revise their opinion about their decision three times before he drained the rest of his vodka on ice. Henn grinned wide. “Yeah. Bathroom first, one second.” Henn stumbled out of the booth and disappeared in the direction of the bathrooms. Zenjil fumbled for their phone, found it where it had somehow fallen to the floor during their conversation, and rubbed the worst bar floor stickiness off on their shirt.
