Leaders like myself face countless death threats, racist comments, and violent messages daily - but this is a new low. All of Minneapolis continues to go back to their same old disgusting dirty tactics, spreading blatant lies and fear-mongering. After the year we have been through with Operation Metro Surge, Minnesotans are sick of this politics of fear and division- point blank period. DFL Party Leadership cannot continue to stay silent on the blatant harm and lies spread by All of Minneapolis. I am disheartened by the culture of enabling this kind of racism, xenophobia, and red-baiting by individuals in positions of power like Chair Richard Carlblom, who has yet to release any statement condemning this type of behavior. It is a complete and utter failure and sadly has been what I have come to expect from the politics of the DFL and its State Chair. I represent the district with the most unmet needs and have fought tooth and nail every day to improve the lives of my neighbors and fellow Minnesotans. This is what the Southside is all about, and that's the leadership we deserve. Now, more than ever, we need leaders who will not fold. We will not back down. Solidarity, comrades." ###”

Senator Omar Fateh Statement on ICE Withdrawal From Minnesota SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Senator Omar Fateh (DFL-Minneapolis) released the following statement today after Tom Homan announced the removal of ICE and Border Patrol agents from Minnesota: "ICE agents finally getting out of Minnesota is only the beginning of restoring the rights and livelihoods of people harmed by this invasion. Far too many Minnesotans were unlawfully detained, assaulted, harassed or imprisoned by these masked, unaccountable agents.
