(deep breath) This is a screenshot of Tim Kazurinsky on "Saturday Night Live" playing Dr. Badofsky, who would regularly come on and explain all the varieties of various things "that have been discovered recently". In this sketch, he's describing phobias such as the fear of open spaces (agoraphobia), the fear of fluffy sweaters (angoraphobia), the fear of being run over by a small Chevrolet (novaphobia), the fear of constipation (nogophobia) and the fear of diarrhea (gogophobia). Anyway, I have taken this silly premise and slapped "SaveTheLastDancestasy" onto one of his cards using MS Paint, suggesting that he has already told us about many things ending in some version of "romantasy".

Opus, drinking a school lunch-sized carton of milk with a straw in it: "Ya mean cigarettes...are UNHEALTHY?" Steve: "Look...I know what I used to tell you..." From Rick Sternbach and Michael Okuda's "Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual," the behind-the-scenes author's note: Given the existence of matter replication devices (like the show's "food replicator" terminals), a very logical question is: "Why can't they just replicate entire starships?" The real reason is that such an ability would allow us to create entire fleets of starships at the touch of a button. This might be great for Federation defense and science programs, but makes for poor drama. For this reason, starship construction facilities (seen at Utopia Planitia in "Booby Trap" and Earth Station McKinley in "Family") have been depicted as construction platforms rather than large replicators. We assume that replication is practical for relatively small items, but that energy costs would be prohibitive for routine replication of larger objects. (Jon Singer points out that if you COULD make a starship at the push of a button, you wouldn't NEED to....)
