This one sort of counts, but I was re-watching this video about unreleased games, and was reminded that I didn't have a copy of Bio Force Ape in my collection. So I got me a cheap copy of NES Play Action Football, and made one! youtu.be/FtxVuka5jFs?...
“LOOK OUTSIDE” I’d watched a few people do full playthroughs, and even if I wasn’t entirely planning to finish it on my own, I still wanted to buy the game and support the dev. It’s an instant classic for indie horror with gorgeously grotesque pixel art, but also heart and humor in equal measure
"Buy" is a loose term since it's a F2P, but I gave the new Dissidia mobile game a try after watching @yopalonso.bsky.social play it. It's okay. But not something I find the urge to return to.
Just recently I bought Denshattack after watching @dandyfloss.bsky.social stream the game and after the first area I knew this game was up my alley!! I also really enjoyed the demo despite my strained hands/fingers ^^;
I got it as a gift, but the last game I saw someone play and wantED to buy was Pokopia. It's fun but I honestly should have known it'd be easy for me to get burnt out on for the same reasons I got burnt out on New Horizons and the same reason I never took to minecraft
Four swords adventures, & thousand year door. Both were let's played by people and i was fascinated with the games I had to play them myself! TTYD having a massive impact on starting to make content online.
I'd heard of it before, but watching Aki play Ball x Pit convinced me

Saw a friend play El Paso, Elsewhere. Told me it was from the devs who made my other favorite shooter (I Am Your Beast), and I really liked what I saw/heard from the gameplay, music, and voice acting. Had to get it as soon as it was discounted!
Vampire Survivors, maybe? I had been on the fence when I'd first heard about it and the concept, but watching people play it and how ridiculously powerful you could become convinced me.

For me, it would be Celeste. I've seen someone stream this game on YouTube a few years ago (I know of the game, I've never seen a full playthrough/gameplay) Bought/played it, game was cool but also kinda hard.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth + Hacker's Memory. I watched @dukethevap.bsky.social play it and looked better than other Digimon games I saw and played. ^^
I think it might have been Retro Rewind, that game is real chill especially if you want to talk to your chat while you're not dealing with customers
