Sadly no new trees this year, I made six last year which need to grow on a bit, maybe just a bit of top grafting.
I didn鈥檛 plan to graft anything as I have too many trees in the nursery needing final locations. But I have a lot of rootstocks left over from last year, so will graft copies of some stuff I already have, and some scions of French pears I鈥檇 never heard of that will be arriving next week! Exciting!
Our first attempts at grafting this year. We did a grafting workshop at RHS Bridgewater a couple of weeks ago. I chose Bee Bench and Milicent Barnes as my 2 attempts and t'other half chose Ashmeads Kernal and Duke of Devonshire as hers. Now to wait and see if they take
My brother鈥檚 unproductive, terribly pruned, unknown dessert apple that came with the house. He wants cookers so I鈥檓 scratching around for something to augment my Bramley. Started pruning back already but a good days work to do yet.
