Oooo nice! I remember when EBGames (yes that's how long ago it was) was clearing them and the expansion packs out for like 8$ a pack. Wish I bought more.

Oh *hell* yeah! The e-Reader was such a cool (if admittedly clunky) device. Stores trying to get rid of those packs was one of the best things to happen to 10-year-old me. Walking out of Shopko with a $5 reader and a bunch of $1 NES games is still one of my greatest gaming hauls.

Never owned an e-reader but reading about them in Nintendo Power seemed like something out of the Jetsons. "Games I can play by just swiping a card??" Complete sorcery.

This is just reminding me of how I never thought I would ever play the Super Mario 3 E-Reader levels unless I eventually got it…lo and behold, it shows up on Nintendo Switch Online with all of them unlocked!! Whole service worth it alone just for that 😂
