Plus an amazing Uematsu soundtrack and a fun and unique battle system. β¨

I remember the full verison came out around the time my Apple Arcade trial was almost over, and I kept the game running for almost 3 months to beat so I couldn't get locked out π
I love how the dioramas end up giving it a modern pre-rendered background feeling. This game continues to be sorely overlooked (being an Apple Arcade exclusive for years really did it no favors), but I hope it will gain more widespread appreciation over the years. π
I wanted to love it but kept getting bored, not sure if it was me at the time or the game though. Do hope to finish it one day!

not judging tbh but i always find funny that after a while the whole diorama thing was like "dam thats a crazy amount of work... what if... we dont?" and then did the rest of the game using just hugh fidelity renders
I loved what I played of the original, but burned out on the second half. Terrific soundtrack.
I started it and was enjoying it but fell off for no good reason. i put it on my list to go back to, glad to hear that was the right call
One of these days I really need to get back to that game. Did the same and played it on Apple Arcade a bit and then picked it up for my Nintendo Switch.

I loved the hand made environments. It reminded me of the Christmas village I used to build with my grandfather every year before he passed.
I played this one last year. Everything is fun to look at, and Uematsu not surprisingly backs it up with some amazing pieces (Sakaguchi said it's his favorite. That it reduced him to tears). But nobody talks about how amazing the combat is!!!
