Another thing I love about Fantasian is that they have a character who makes you use items. As someone who very rarely uses items in RPGs, having a party member whose specials are all item-mixing is really cool!

The attacks being fixed damage kinda sucked, but it's great for the party wide buffing utility (in a game very designed around those things mattering).

It's a hard balance I think, because on one hand you want to make sure it's worth spending (and gathering) those resources to use on those specials And the only other option is to make you want to farm resources that are *only for* the mixing, which isn't always fun!

I like how the environment looks like it could be a model set. Something about the leaves on the trees screams model train set decoration to me.
