They are the Cherry-Headed-Conures. KQED has a documentary about them. I remember hearing about them in the 90s. Apparently they were first documented in 1911. Long live Ornithologist. 🙂

The wild parrots would hang out on the tree outside the window when I lived in North Beach. It's a wonderful way to start a morning.
