1910s Stanley Hand plane handle or tote, heavily used, broken on top, and oxidized. It’s sitting on top of a woodworking bench and is the Before picture in the series of this post.
Black leather safari or Roorkhee chair with turned padauk legs and stretchers. Natural leather strapping with brass buckles ensure a secure but adjustable means of assembly. Against a black back ground the artful lighting highlights the curves and classic form of the chair.
Starburst and Midcentury modern boomerang pattern engraved into a panel of walnut and inlaid with brass and steel. A simple pattern, it was designed as a possible piece of hung art, but the dullness of the metal and the muddy walnut didn’t draw sufficient contrast to justify further development of the idea.
