Blackout poetry assignment using magazine cutouts. It reads: the building seeks a symbiotic relationship. It relies on patterns. The conscious response is romantic. People used to working in massive structures could optimize this illusion. The fascination with these finely wrought buildings is understandable, but those seemingly weightless, transparent notions were intrinsic. The issue is whether the relationship is beneficial. The buildings could only survive if totally isolated, their doors closed, the giant machines immediately overcome. We took their operation for granted, the constraints of time and place, the aesthetic manipulation of form could handle any consequences. The beautiful buildings they used too much they cost too much
