The problem is UBER and LYFT has reduced the number of Taxis to the point we have no choice or need to often wait for a long, long time (in my experience here in SF) And now they have WAYMO that the tech bros here love and soon the UBER and LYFT drivers will all lose their jobs too.
We use the Transit App and the Ride Yellow (taxi) App when transit is infeasible. They both provide info so you see where your bus/train/taxi is in sorta real time. Cheaper and less exploitive than U ride hailing
As someone who’s never used ride-hailing apps before, it was fascinating to me to see how even after leaving South Africa I felt a resistance to giving it up when I’d previously never had an issue relying on taxis. It showed clearly how design influences our choices disconnect.blog/the-seductiv...
