Ricketts gonna Rickett.

JBasRickySpanish · 6h

I’d have pushed that old man down the stairs 😂

Ouisiem · 1d

Not standing isn’t a crime; assaulting is. Period.

Pantuso · 1d

The anthem has no place at sporting events. It's bullshit to begin with.

Joelle Maslak · 1d

I will not stand for the anthem. My country has declared me as an enemy extremist because of my trans history, so it shouldn't be surprised when I don't feel allegiance to it.

Genocide Condemner · 1d

I'm a season ticket holder for a college football team, and I will never stand for our anthem as long as corporations decide who our military needs to murder.

Grumpy Claws · 1d

When I was a kid, my dad would never stand for the anthem. It was humiliating at the time (the stares!) but looking back, it was an incredible lesson of what patriotism can look like in the form of resistance.

Michael Samonek · 1d

What the fuck? An adult struck a person without provocation, that's the entire story. Nothing else enters into it.

Laura · 1d

Inexcusable response.

HardwareGuy · 16h

If you come to my house and hit someone you are leaving my house.

Rachel · 3h

forget thrown out, that is straight up assault!

The Left Hand of John Brown · 1d

a literal sign of fascism.

Keith Law · 1d

Yep. Gutless.

Cubs org also seem unaware of Barnette (1943). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Vi...

vanoreo · 6h

(googling who owns the cubs) aaahhh

Parker Molloy · 7h

Awww, the guy who assaulted someone at a Cubs game was a war vet? Well, that certainly changes... uh... absolutely fucking nothing. That guy shouldn't be allowed inside Wrigley Field for the rest of his life. Aw, he got emotional because a stranger was sitting? STFU dude. www.tmz.com/2026/07/21/c...

I would have had that ahole ejected from the game AND arrested for assault. Go take your unresolved PTSD somewhere else. And before y’all come at me, *I* have clinically diagnosed PTSD. *I* can say this.

Snarky McSnarkerson · 7h

Everyone at Wrigley gets 1 free slap.

Djarum · 1d

Well considering who owns them this is completely expected.

Karen A. Virus · 1d

The person who assaulted another attendee should be banned from Wrigley for life.

FNAKC · 1d

Just delete a couple bits and reads a lot better.

Wes Thomas Anderson · 1d

The perp was being even more disrespectful, since he kept blabbering to the guy even after the slap while the anthem was being sung. Pay attention, creep! They’re singing our country’s song!!!

em³elee.strange · 12h

Always the same people doing. Raised wrong.

Hipster Sasquatch, trapped on the planet of the nepo babies · 1d

What wishy-washy nonsense! Either you're fine with the people attending your games duking it out (and then potentially suing everybody remotely relevant for injuries afterward), or you're not! There's no actual middle ground on this.

Rob Codey · 1d

Bet they were still selling beer during the anthem.

Clifton · 1d

If people really respect the flag and what it stands for, they’ll actually DEFEND what it stands for- which means DEFENDING the asshole that refuses to stand for the anthem, and punishing the fascist that demands performative “respect.” Our freedoms and our laws are explicitly outlined.

coastally1337 · 21h

Imma sit my ass down through your performative songs and wait for someone to come fuck with me, Chicago

Joe Tambien · 18h

“Or did he deserve it?” What the ever loving fuck? Whoever wrote this deserves a smack on the head.

mctsonic · 1d

I don’t get up for any ‘God Bless America’ on Sunday games. Get yr deity/religion outta my baseball.
