Then you get to take all the still little fish and put them in tanks and put hats on them. Like how do more people not fish when you can literally put a trash can hat on a silly little purple sea cucumber On my perfection save fish tank arranging, top endgame priority. Top tier fishing content.

I honestly do like the fishing. It’s super easy to level and gets you a lot of money early on. I don’t know why so many people have trouble with it.

If I’m being real, it’s a major pain in the ass for the first couple fishing levels and until you get at least one rod upgrade. Beyond that it’s perfectly enjoyable.

I will say it's a more involved mini-game style of fishing than the fishing in Sea of Thieves (pull fish left, pull fish right, reel in a bit, repeat) or Animal Crossing (timing the press when it bites). Guess it comes down to how much one wants to put into catching a fish... or treasure chest.

Every time I start a new farm I end up getting level 10 fishing really fast. It's just so much fun and a nice source of money

Stardew's fishing is great. Because it fits the game's overall pacing! Many other games just shoehorn fishing into the game without caring about whether or not it's worth the players time investment!
