Quiet. Subject to the roiling wads of thoughts that flop around my head. The noise can provide alternatives and distractions. But in the quiet all bets are off. Pummeled by myself. Luckily I've come to terms with many of the bruisers stuck in my noggin. We've decided that our greatest enemies aren't inside. Possibly delusion, but a nice one. In the quiet I'm the one to make noise. Breaking it with my voice, screaming onto a page. There are many silent ways to make noise.
I'm playing white in chess. I'm checkmated in ~10 moves by one Knight. My king is smothered by his lovely wife, two stallions, their priest, and a foot soldier.
