The trouble is I have no sense of how to develop it short of noticing lots of designed elements and sebsing what I like. Giving structure to that process would help

Maybe seeking a universal structure is foolish. Maybe the better way to think about it is finding others where I try to articulate your thoughts and hear theirs to better bring to the foreground what I like. So maybe helping pair cohorts to make the leap could help. Liberal arts night classes
