We just drove from upstate NY to Detroit for this new job, and I gotta say—this was the easiest and most painless EV road trip I've ever done. For work or for personal reasons.

KIA EV6 is way underrated. Love mine

nice photo too, Patrick! Glad it was a good trip. I've never had much of an issue finding chargers personally.

I charged the EV6 four times (technically 3.5, one was just a quick lunch top-off). Aside from resetting a plug once at dinner, everything worked smoothly on the first try. Even the Electrify America stations were flawless—never thought I'd say that.

Good to hear that other ev's are catching up to Tesla. Should have been much quicker! It will get better every year as ev's & charging continue to get better

How do you find out where a chg'g stn is?

New Years we did ATL to DC, then DC down to Highlands, NC then back to Atlanta in my EV9. Was easy and painless as well. Used EVGO, RAN, IONNA, and EA all worked great. Pretty impressed with the infrastructure improvements of the last two years.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for all of the charging sessions and what is the amount of mileage covered?

Hopefully the job isn't at the one of the big three because gas cars in the United States are going bye-bye. This escapade into the Persian Gulf will make gasoline cars inaccessible to all but the ultra wealthy and will need all that oil for plastics anyways. Byd makes a 7500 250 mil range ev.

Holy balls, I can't believe I missed the WSJ news until just now. I guess that's my answer to "Wait, is PG in Detroit now?" Congrats!

Kia Hyundai vehicles are getting pretty good, they're doing an amazing job and they've completely flipped the reputation from a few years ago in my eyes, I don't have an EV but I've been driving a Hyundai Kona for the last 4 years and it's been a fantastic car

Went from Rochester, NY to West Central Indiana (628 miles) coming home from Christmas this winter. No troubles! It's getting pretty easy, just have to tack on about 20 minutes for every 200 miles.

It’s getting better but still long way to go compared to EU.

We love our EV6!

When I moved back to California from Maine I crossed the country 5 times on the interstate highway system. During those trips I saw at most 14 EVs and the charging stations were always mostly empty. We need more EVs that can charge quicker

What a beautiful car! Definitely, I need to visit a car dealer and take a closer look.

Helps to have an 800v BEV ⚡️ Went from Boston-to-Detroit in a rented Kia EV6. Would have been more difficult in a lesser vehicle. youtube.com/shorts/ogW-c...
