I made my own kit, trying to hit European prices. Used panels, new AP Systems 120v inverter, plus some cables and a Home Depot mounting strategy. Bottom line was about 65¢ a Watt. Payback in 18 months. I need to write it up. Want to put it on the magazine?

This is very cool. Is the inverter one that will automatically shut off if there's an outage (anti-islanding)? And is it just plugged into an existing circuit (hopefully a dedicated one)?

"Home Depot mounting strategy" Please explain what you mean by that? Mounts NOT involving the "official" aluminium rails and clamps and such?

Job right from my heart ❤️ I made a 6-panel roof to park our bicycles, 3 panels against the SE wall, 3 panels on a small shed (all second hand) and one bifacial (new) in the garden fence. All in the shade for half the day (wall set only in winter). Total cost some $900 , for some 1700 kWh/yr.
