The Beautiful demoiselle sits on a stem, in amongst some riverside foliage. Its iridescent electric blue body length is about 50mm. This damselfly has small, lateral, hemispherical eyes; two pairs of wings similar in shape; and a slender abdomen. The wings have a dense internal network of veins, the wings are somewhat translucent.
