On the left you see one of the JWST images of Jupiter (in one of the infrared bands). On the right, for comparision, is the result of a multiscale image enhancement algorithm which shows, in much greater and more visible detail, patterns of atmospheric turbulence and flows in the Jovian atmosphere. Looking closely, you can also see a very subtle ring around Jupiter (in a vertical orientation).

The detail brought up by the enhancement algorithm might be seen as a woven collar of different colors of string, surrounding the black hole itself.
