ok i lied. one more thing. healthy relationships are usually, for the most part, your partner or friend or whoever else showing that they love and respect you by giving you choices and autonomy. and ironically enough this makes it so that it’s the opposite, i know people intend me to feel loved when they respect my opinion and choices, but because having agency is a source of stress, it just has the opposite effect. Sad !
i think the reason i don’t play many video games compared to other forms of media is because it often gives the player a lot of agency, especially in games where your choices matter. and of course that could just be chalked up to me being paralyzed by indecisiveness. but i think it’s moreso because i feel i am a passenger to my own life and having to make choices with consequences is terrifying and too open-ended for someone who has always been passive to everything. idk. “learned helplessness eternally” -> “now suddenly every choice i make matters in adulthood” is kinda aggravating when you’re used to your fate being decided for you this also kinda makes sense when i think about not feeling like a person at all. i am more of a doll than anything else and would prefer if people treated me like a possession rather than a person. i can only see and understand myself in the context of existing for the sake of the people i care about. we are getting too much into my psyche here though so the show’s over, go home
