High-resolution, close-up photography shows details of the fly's anatomy including veins in the wings, hair (pile), antennae components and the claws on its feet. Taken in an opportune moment of overcast skies, the image is soft and lacks harsh shadows.

Spotted salamander crawling across wet road pavement. Light gray belly and underside, almost black back with two rows of bright yellow spots, each running down either side of her back. Has some tan-colored hemlock needles stuck to her skin. Size suggests that it is a female (almost 10" long).
