Peter Lyons @peterlyons.com · May 12 Using my new-to-me drill press for the first time. It has frickin' laser beams! Feels so good to have a shop with everything I need to finally do projects properly and not be digging out from a woefully inadequate setup in some dark cold driveway.

A few years ago I found a great deal at a surplus dealer and splurged on a nice floor-standing Powermatic (6in throw is so awesome for woodworking). The laser feels gimmicky, especially because half the time it's blocked by my fence … on that note, a fence is an awesome/easy upgrade.
I modified my drill press with a foot switch. I love it.
